Exporting Jobs?

For the first time since last December the Bay Area has seen total employment take a slip. The labor force also shrank slightly for the second month in a row. The big hit was in Santa Clara County where 4,100 jobs disappeared. It will be interesting to see if the trend holds up over the next few months. See the updated SF Bay Area Employment Trends here.

  1. We’re losing steel companies in the uk, very worrying for people

    • Charlotte… most of the job loss here has been in service/retail sectors. The manufacturing base has been reduced over a long period. Much of it because of strict environmental policies. A good/stable economy is one that has a balance of various jobs. While we have seen strong job growth in the tech sector… it is very volatile and that is not good in the long run.
